Permanent makeup usually lasts between 12 months and 3 years but this will heavily depend on your lifestyle. Sun/sunbeds may have an effect on the results during the immediate healing stages and can prematurely fade your permanent makeup. Certain beauty products can also effect your permanent makeup. We will invite you back for a “perfecting re-evaluation” 4-6 weeks after your initial treatment and I recommend that you leave the same length of time until any holidays. Always use a total block SPF cream to prolong the life of your permanent makeup.

You can usually go about your daily routine immediately after your appointment, but some clients experience some minor swelling and redness which normally subsides within 48 hours. During the healing process you may also experience some flaking or scabbing so you will need to be aware of this if you are planning any events during this period. You will be given thorough aftercare guidance which will detail what you should and should not do during the healing process. This will include exposure to sun, exercise, washing, makeup application and removal, chlorine etc. The most important thing is to avoid getting wet for first 7 days, touching, scratching or rubbing the area during the healing process.

During the consultation process colours are discussed in detail to ensure that the correct colour pigment is chosen to suit your skin  & hair colour. Skin tone is often categorised according to the Fitzpatrick skin type scale which ranges from very fair (skin type I) to very dark (skin type VI).

You should be prepared for the colour intensity to be significantly sharper and darker immediately after the treatment. This will subside and become lighter as the skin heals. This process can take up to 10 days. Comprehensive Aftercare is given following your procedure explaining how to look after your permanent makeup.

There is NO SET RULE for the length of time between your initial treatment and your colour boost and in fact it can vary from 12 MONTHS UNTIL 3 YEARS.

Your brows will naturally start to change/fade/lose definition but this does not necessarily mean you are ready for a colour boost. It is essential that we do not over load your skin with pigment and saturate the skin which can create scar tissue.

If you feel you need a colour boost I will:
1. Ask why you feel you need a colour boost to establish your concerns via email / phone / message.
2. Invite you in for a 15 minute “Colour Boost Consultation” which will enable me to assess your brows and determine if you are ready for your colour boost.
3. If you are ready then we will book in your “Colour Boost Appointment” which will usually last approx 1h 30mins.

It is important to remember that permanent make-up is a “low” not a “no” maintenance treatment so always follow the aftercare procedure.

The length of time until your colour boost varies from person to person as skin type, diet, genetics and environmental factors can all contribute to how long the pigments will be retained in the skin. For instance, sun bed use and sun exposure have a bearing on the pigment retention as well as some “medical” facial products but this can be prevented with proper protection.

People with sensitive skin are pleased with permanent make up because there is less chance of a reaction to the pigment than there is of a reaction or sensitivity to traditional make up products. A patch test and a full medical questionnaire is completed prior to all permanent makeup procedures.

Yes I have clients that you can talk to as well as seeing photographs of their permanent makeup. When a client has had a procedure I do ask if they would be happy to speak to anyone who is thinking about having it done. This is part of the many questions on the necessary paperwork that are completed prior to treatment.

A FREE consultation is given prior to every treatment. This is initially over the telephone.  If a separate consultation appointment is required please note that the waiting time for a procedure could be longer.  The consultation will explain to you all aspects of the treatment.

The actual treatment appointment is approximately two hours. The application of topical anaesthetics (20 mins during which all medical & consent forms are completed). Time is then spent consulting and selecting the appropriate colour for your skin. The cosmetic artistry – designing the shape providing a unique “template” suited to your face shape and then implanting the pigment. Complete after-care instructions will be agreed verbally as well as a printed aftercare sheet will be given to you to take home.

IV therapy where IV stands for "intravenous" or "inside the vein" is a technique used to deliver fluids, nutrition, or medication directly into a person's vein. Yes, but you shouldn’t need to take the same vitamins as the Vitamin Infusion Drip. For example if you have a Vitamin B12 Booster Shot with us then you shouldn’t need to take a daily B12 as well.

It is important to iterate that the IV Vitamin Infusion drips and boosters have no evidence to cure, prevent or treat cancer of any type or any other conditions. Whilst there is ongoing research in this field, the outcome is currently inconclusive and therefore unable to recommend our products for these reasons.

Camilla Seton Medical & Cosmetics does not endorse the use of vitamin drips and booster shots as an alternative to traditional medicine such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapies. Vitamin Drips can be used as a means of improved “wellness” to improve energy levels.

IV Vitamin Infusion therapy appointments usually last anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes. Booster Shots take less than 5 minutes to administer.

A Drip is an Intravenous Drip which is given by putting a cannula into a vein in your arm. You will then be attached to the Drip for around 40 minutes while the fluid and nutrients enter your bloodstream. A Booster Shot is an injection of a single nutrient ie Vitamin B12 into the deltoid muscle in the arm.

Please give at least 48 hours notice if you are unable to attend your appointment. On most days we operate a cancellation list of clients waiting for treatments. If you cannot make your appointment, please show consideration by giving us the opportunity to offer your appointment time to someone else as a minimum of 48hrs is needed to undertake a patch test prior to any treatment. We reserve the right to retain your deposit if you cancel your appointment within 48 hours and 100% of the treatment cost if you fail to notify us/arrive for your appointment.
